Job summary

Genesis Healthcare in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a Recreation Director to develop, implement and supervise activities to improve patients' quality of life. You will lead staff, plan programs, manage budgets, and build relationships with families and the community.

Qualifications include a Bachelor in therapeutic recreation or related certification, CTRS/ADC compliance, and at least two years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation or completion of NAAP/NCCAP course for Activity Professionals.
• Certification per ADC or CTRS regulatory bodies.
• Two years' experience in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years, health care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report to Nursing Home Administrator.
• Plan individual and group programs aligned with patient needs, preferences and treatment goals.
• Lead, guide and direct recreation staff and volunteers.
• Maintain documentation; participate in budget planning.
• Develop relationships with patients' families and the community.
• Utilize community resources to enhance recreation programs.
