Job summary

The Alden Network is seeking an Activity Coordinator to manage the daily activity calendar under the supervision of the Activity Director. The role supports the program’s mission and adheres to policies, ensuring residents receive holistic attention to psychosocial, medical, and activity needs.

The position is full-time with daytime hours, requiring interaction with residents, families, and staff to deliver person-centered activities that honor residents’ preferences and rights.

Qualifications

• Must have 1 year of healthcare-related experience or volunteer/personal experience with disabled population.
• Must be able to read and write English.
• Must hold a valid IL driver’s license.
• Must be punctual and able to follow the activity calendar.
• Ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff.
• Ability to relate to ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset individuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide feedback to Activity Director for monitoring achievement of goals.
• Lead a therapeutic, person-centered activity program to enhance residents’ quality of life.
• Follow Activity Policies/Procedures and Federal/State regulations.
• Develop detailed, person-centered activity plans based on residents’ backgrounds and needs.
• Schedule daily activities reflecting residents’ choices and rights.
• Maintain records such as participation, progress notes, and activity planning sheets.
• Coordinate community involvement and resident outings as appropriate.
