TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center in Franklin, TN offers a Resident I Grad Nurse Med-Surg position designed for new graduates entering Medical-Surgical nursing. The program emphasizes comprehensive patient care, safety, and growth within a supportive team environment.

As you rotate through med-surg responsibilities, you will collaborate with physicians and experienced nurses to develop clinical judgment, manage diverse patient conditions, and advance toward licensure.

Qualifications

• NCLEX-RN authorization required.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• NCLEX examination appointment confirmation.
• RN licensure must be obtained within 90 days of start date.
• Associate or Bachelor degree required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a Medical-Surgical department.
• Collaborate with medical providers and care team using established nursing models (Assess, Perform, Teach, Manage).
• Advocate for patients and families to support exemplary patient experience and outcomes.

Medical Surgical is the field for you if you are most passionate about developing comprehensive, holistic medical judgement in your patients. You will care for patients with moderate-acuity who are facing a wide range of conditions, often multiple at the same time – such as cardiac disease with kidney failure. This simultaneous diversity allows you to evaluate your patients’ complete medical picture when making critical decisions, deepen your understanding of various medical conditions and treatments, recognize key symptoms and their implications, comprehend medication interactions, and determine when you should intervene.
