ABB is seeking a capable Field Service Technician to join our Midwest service team in Johnsonburg, PA. You will perform on-site field service, preventive maintenance, and diagnostics on industrial control systems, ensuring timely and high-quality service for customer operations.

You will identify opportunities to improve processes, coordinate with customers, and train junior staff as needed. The role requires DCS/QCS, PLC, electrical troubleshooting, and a willingness to be on-call to support

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 7+ years' experience in field service or preventive maintenance.
• Experience with DCS/QCS systems and PLCs.
• Electrical/electronics troubleshooting capability.

Responsibilities

• Perform field service tasks and preventative maintenance on-site or remotely.
• Prepare material lists and ensure availability of parts and equipment for service activities.

You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring customer retention by effectively communicating service work timeline and expectations.The work model for the role is: Onsite at customer site in Johnsonburg, PA.Key ResponsibilitiesWorking with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer’s operations and eliminate pain points.Performing field service tasks, preventative maintenance, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products for which they are certified to perform.Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.Acting as trainer when needed, for field service associates and customers.QualificationsAssociate's degree with 5+ years in field service, preventative maintenance, etc…, or HS diploma with 7+ year of experience.Experience working with DCS/QCS systems.PLC and networking experience.Mechanically inclined with some knowledge in basic hand tools, diagnostic tools, etc.Electrical/Electronics troubleshooting experienceMust be available for on-call 24/7 if needed.We empower you to take the lead, share bold ideas, and shape real outcomes.
