Job summary

SOC LLC is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for a full-time, on-site role in the Columbia/Ft. Meade area, MD. The role requires TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph and focuses on operations and maintenance of a data center network with deep expertise in routing and switching, including EVPN, OSPF, BGP and MPLS-TE.

Juniper products (QFX/MX/EX/SRX) are supported; certification is a strong plus. Responsibilities include maintaining a secure, high-availability network environment, implementing routing

Qualifications

• Engineering Design/Architecture, Operational, and Support experience in data center networks.
• Juniper and/or other vendor certifications are a strong plus.
• Automation and DevOps knowledge is a plus.
• Automation access methods: XML API, NETCONF, REST API, gRPC.
• Python tools: RPCs, REST, PyEZ, ncclient.
• Ansible: Playbooks and Jinja2 templates.
• Automation scripts: Commit, Op, Event, or SNMP scripts; Python and SLAX.

• Full-time on-site position at a customer location in the Columbia/Ft. Meade area.
• Operations and maintenance of a data center network.
• Deep understanding of routing and switching technologies in data center networks (EVPN, OSPF, BGP, MPLS TE, etc.).
• Support Juniper products: QFX, MX, EX, SRX; experience with Juniper is a plus.
• Provide troubleshooting, design improvements, and JTAC coordination.

• Ability to prioritize work activity to achieve customer and account team goals


• Ability to effectively work under pressure with customer engineers and JTAC to resolve hardware and software issues and implement solutions


• Ability to effectively troubleshoot equipment and network problems & to open and track JTAC cases through to problem resolution


• Ability to effectively communicate case status updates and deliver root cause analysis


• Support informal and formal technology briefings and training sessions
