Job summary

Traffic Planning and Design, Inc. Career Center is seeking experienced Resident Engineers and Senior Construction Inspectors for highway, road, and bridge projects across New Jersey. Ideal candidates will have NJDOT/JNTSA project exposure and be ready to observe and document construction activities on-site.

Requirements include NICET III/IV or NJ P.E. license, 7+ years in construction inspection, and a relevant degree or EIT.

Qualifications

• NICET III/IV Certification or NJ PE license required.
• 7+ years of construction inspection experience.
• EIT or B.S. in Civil Engineering is a plus.
• ACI, NJSAT, TCC, CCTC, OSHA 10 preferred.
• Reading blueprints/plans and inspection software familiarity.
• Experience with Federal-aid/bridge projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and observe construction activities to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
• Document all on-site observations on Daily Inspection Reports and other required records.
• Communicate with contractor and client to keep project on schedule and aligned with goals.

Our ideal candidate has experience on highway, road and bridge projects throughout NJ with agencies such as NJDOT, NJTA, SJTA, DRPA, DRJTBC, and/or experience with Local County and State agencies.Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinate and observe construction activities to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
• Document all on-site observations of construction progress such as equipment, manpower, and materials on a Daily Inspection Report and various other reports when required.
• Proactively communicate with the contractor and the client to progress the project in a timely manner to meet the project goals.

Job Requirements:

• NICET III-IV Certification or Valid Professional Engineers license in the State of New Jersey is required.
• 7+years of experience in construction inspection
• EIT or B.S. in Civil Engineering is a plus
• ACI, NJSAT, TCC, CCTC, and/or OSHA 10 Preferred.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, plans, and specifications, as well as familiarity with inspection tools and software.
• Experience with inspection of Federal-aid projects and relevant certifications is not required but is a plus.
• Experience with bridge construction is a plus.
• Experience with NJTA Capex or NJDOT Site Manager is not required but is a plus.
• Able to work overtime, some nights, or weekends as needed.
• Ability to drive to and from, on, or around a project site during all times of the day.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Valid Driver's License

Pay Range: $35/hour to $70/hour
