Job summary
Garg Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Resident Engineer/CM Practice Lead to support transportation projects across Northern and Central New Jersey.
This on-site, full-time role demands hands-on field leadership, review of plans, and strong coordination with engineers and contractors. The candidate will oversee roadway, bridge, rail, and civil construction activities for NJDOT, NJTA, NJ Transit, and public agencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Resident Engineer on roadway and bridge projects.
- Active New Jersey Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
- ACI Certification.
- NJ SAT Asphalt Technician Certification.
- Rutgers Traffic Control Coordinator Certification.
- OSHA 30‑Hour Construction Safety Certification.
- TWIC Card eligibility and background screening compliance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee construction inspection and project management for highway, bridge, rail, and civil infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve construction-related issues.
- Review construction plans, drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Review and approve RFIs, shop drawings, working drawings, and value engineering proposals.
- Perform materials inspection and acceptance prior to installation.
- Monitor construction activities for compliance with approved plans and specifications.
- Track, document, and manage project issues and field conditions.
- Prepare and contribute to monthly project status reports.
- Support project pursuits and staffing oversight as a CM Practice Lead.
