Job summary

As Resident Engineer for a progressive design-build project in Seattle, Mott MacDonald will be your on-site representative driving delivery, safety, quality, schedule, and budget decisions.

You will connect contractors, clients and project teams, lead on-site activities, review change orders, and keep stakeholders informed through clear communications, while prioritizing safety and sustainability on every task.

Qualifications

• PE licence preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.
• At least eight years of construction management experience, including design-build.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and regulatory requirements.

As Resident Engineer, you will be Mott MacDonald’s representative for a progressive design-build project in Seattle. You will help guide construction delivery, connect contractors, clients and project teams, and keep safety, quality, schedule and budget at the centre of day-to-day decisions.

Your impact

• Lead Mott MacDonald’s on-site construction activities and serve as the main point of contact for the project team.

• Resolve issues and conflicts constructively, keeping delivery moving while protecting project requirements.
• Maintain accurate project records, including daily reports, progress photographs and meeting minutes.
• Keep clients, project managers and stakeholders informed through timely updates and clear communication.
• Champion a culture of safety, quality, sustainability and continuous improvement across the site.

What you will bring

Required qualifications

• A Professional Engineer (PE) licence preferred
• A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or a related field.
• At least eight years of construction management experience, including experience on design-build projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and regulatory requirements.
• The ability to lead and communicate effectively with contractors, clients and multidisciplinary project teams.
• The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced site environment.
• Proficiency with construction management software and tools.
• A clear commitment to safety, quality and sustainability.

The expected salary for this position is $155,000 - $189,000.

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
