Job summary

WSP in the U.S. seeks a Full-Time Resident Engineer for Las Vegas, NV to plan, review and assign work for field personnel, and to coordinate with clients and contractor staff.

The role involves overseeing construction layouts, material testing, daily reports, and leading meetings; maintaining safety and ethical conduct per WSP policies. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering field preferred.
  • 7+ years of direct experience in Resident Engineer/Construction Manager on transportation projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret contract documents.
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards and materials.
  • Valid, current Nevada Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, reviews and assigns work of subordinate field personnel.
  • Reviews construction processes and engineering layouts.
  • Reviews project activities with client and contractor’s field supervision resolving disputes.
  • Oversees materials testing activities.
  • Reviews daily inspection reports and project documentation.
  • Attends and may lead construction meetings with client and contractors.
  • Upholds safety, ethics and WSP Code of Conduct.

Full‑Time Resident Engineer – Las Vegas, Nevada

Your Impact
  • Plans, reviews and assigns work of subordinate field or construction field office personnel
  • Reviews construction processes and engineering layouts
  • Reviews project activities with client and contractor’s field supervision resolving disputes and other daily issues
  • Oversees materials testing activities
  • Reviews daily inspection reports and other project documentation
  • Attends and may lead construction meetings with client and contractors
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering-related field preferred (e.g., Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Technology)
  • Minimum of 7 years of directly relevant experience, including Resident Engineer/Construction Manager or related roles on transportation improvement projects valued at $10M and greater
  • Ability to read and fully understand contract documents
  • Working knowledge of regulations, applicable codes, standards, and materials
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Valid, current Nevada Driver’s license
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE)/Licensed Civil Engineer or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred
