Job summary

Ocean Meadow Senior Living in Clinton, CT is seeking a Cook to join our team and help provide nutritious, restaurant-style meals to residents with memory challenges.

This full-time role requires at least 1 year cooking experience in hospitality or healthcare, culinary training preferred, and ability to follow recipes and food safety standards. We offer competitive pay ($18-$20/hour) and benefits including health, dental, life insurance, PTO and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1 year cooking experience in hospitality or healthcare.
• Culinary training preferred.
• Food handlers permit required by state law.
• Able to read and follow recipes and printed production guides.
• Knowledge of food handling, preparation, cooking and service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in the community according to Ocean Meadow Senior Living standards.
• Provide high level dining service and promote a restaurant-style atmosphere.
• Work closely with the Director of Culinary Services and/or Executive Director to keep residents satisfied with food and dining programs.
• Ensure all food is received, stored, and prepared according to company standards.
• Maintain kitchen and food storage areas clean, safe, and sanitary.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations in the absence of the Director of Culinary Services and assist with menus.
