Job summary

Lifespace Communities' Friendship Village of South Hills in Upper St Clair, PA, seeks a Prep Cook to support daily dining for residents. You will follow recipes, plate meals, coordinate production with service times, and help maintain food safety and sanitation.

Requirements include a high school diploma and at least one year as a prep cook; state certification in Safe Food Handling if available. We offer paid time off, uniforms, parking, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience as a prep cook or similar position.
• State Certified in Safe Food Handling and Sanitation if state certification program exists.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food items per menu requirements following designated recipes.
• Prepare plates and garnish food items to be served to residents and guests.
• Coordinate food production with meal service hours while preserving quality, temperature, and appearance.
• Monitor food temperatures and use proper food storage techniques in accordance with state and local standards.
• Maintain work area in a safe and sanitary condition may include cleaning cooking equipment, and other areas of the kitchen as assigned.
