Job summary

Upstate Services Group seeks RA/HHA/DSP/Caregiver/Unit Aides in New York to join a compassionate care team. This role includes the chance to participate in a FREE PAID CNA training program and to work under nurses in various settings.

Responsibilities cover unit rounds to spot issues, meal assistance, bedmaking, linen passes, stocking, and preparing rooms for new admissions, while delivering mail and supporting residents’ comfort and dignity.

Qualifications

• Must have up-to-date MMR vaccination and physical.
• Must pass a background check, which may require fingerprinting.
• Preferred: 1 year of customer service or healthcare skills.
• Demonstrates compassion, empathy, and desire to improve patients' lives.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
• Physical stamina to stand, lift, and assist patients.
• Flexibility to work in different healthcare settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, and home care.

Responsibilities

• Make rounds on the unit looking for items needing attention.
• Straightening utility rooms, linen rooms, and pantries as needed.
• Assist with meal service.
• Complete the Paid Feeding Assistant Program and work under the supervision of a nurse to feed or assist residents who do not have complicated feeding restrictions.
• Deliver mail to residents; reading mail to residents as requested.
• Make resident beds and keep rooms tidy.
• Pass clean linen.
• Assure ice water is available on units.
• Prepare rooms for new admissions.
• Take inventory of resident’s possessions and send items to personal laundry to be labeled.
