Job summary

Calvin Community is seeking an entry-level care assistant in Des Moines, IA, to provide daily living support for residents in an assisted living setting.

You will assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and meals, while documenting observations in resident records and maintaining clean, safe living spaces. This role emphasizes compassionate, person-centered care and teamwork with nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, people-centered attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift, move, and assist residents safely, up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to learn and follow established care procedures.
• CNA’s are highly encouraged to apply.
• Experience caring for residents with dementia is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting; serve meals and help with mobility.
• Document care provided and observations in resident medical records.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of resident rooms and common areas; attend to resident needs during shift.
