Job summary

Peregrine Senior Living in Delmar, NY is seeking an energetic Resident Care Aide to assist memory-impaired residents with bathing, grooming, and daily activities while preserving dignity.

Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and CNA/HHA/PCA certification; one year of caregiving experience and genuine compassion for the elderly are required.

Qualifications

• CNA, HHA, or PCA certification preferred or as required by law.
• One year working in a caregiving capacity preferred.
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly required.

Responsibilities

• Assisting memory-impaired residents with bathing, grooming, and dressing while maintaining dignity and independence.
• Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations regarding residents’ rights.
• Maintain and document proper records of care.
• Immediately report changes in resident’s condition to the supervisor.
• Promote and encourage residents to participate in community activities

Salary: $16.50 - $17.00/hour – based on experience
Shift differential offered for night, evening, and weekend shifts

We are currently seeking an energetic and dedicated Resident Care Aide.

Resident Care Aide Responsibilities include:

• Assisting our memory impaired residents to complete tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing while maintaining the residents’ dignity and promoting their independence
• Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations regarding residents’ rights
• Maintain and document proper records of care
• Immediately report changes in resident’s condition to the supervisor: evidence of illness, changes in behavior, personal care needs not being met, medication issues, residents’ whereabouts unknown, etc.
• Promote and encourage residents to participate in community activities

Resident Care Aide Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant-CNA, Home Health Aide-HHA, or Personal Care Aide-PCA certification preferred or as required by law
• One year working in a care giving capacity preferred
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly required
