Job summary

You will encourage independence, maintain accurate records, assist with medication where allowed, and keep the living environment clean and safe while following policies and state regulations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be over 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license with current registration and proof of insurance.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Current fingerprint card may be required for certain positions.
• CPR certification required or preferred.
• First aid certification required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring) per the service plan.
• Encourage residents to do as much as possible themselves.
• Serve meals and assist with meal prep per preplanned menus.
• Encourage proper diet and fluids, document changes in eating habits and report to supervisor.
• Initiate and participate in planned leisure activities and encourage socialization.
• Maintain daily resident records and document medication distribution, observations, and changes; report health or behavioral changes to supervisor.
• Assist or supervise medication administration as defined by policy and state laws.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment and perform general housekeeping and laundry duties.
• Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond promptly to resident requests for assistance.
• Know each resident's location and ensure sign-out procedures are followed; inform supervisor if a resident cannot be located.
• Promote teamwork through cooperative interactions with coworkers.
