Job Overview

Position: Resident Attendant Shelters - Multiple shift times available, New Brunswick

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Location: Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen - Perth Amboy, NJ

Job Responsibilities
  • Monitor and assist residents in two shelters, ensuring safety and adherence to rules
  • Prepare and serve client meals
  • Conduct monthly fire drills and maintain building safety
  • Store supplies and travel locally as needed
  • Document safety and security measures, communicate with residents, volunteers, visitors, and staff
  • Perform perimeter checks and room inspections, document findings for the next shift
  • Respond promptly to emergencies following protocols, including evacuation procedures
  • Conduct orientation for new residents to explain expectations, policies, and procedures
  • Collaborate with volunteers and donors
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Bi-lingual candidates encouraged to apply
