Job summary

Ecumen Lakeview Commons in Maplewood, MN is seeking a Resident Assistant to provide personal care and health-related services per individualized care plans. You will document care and follow schedules to support residents' physical and emotional well-being.

This role requires compassion, strong communication, and adherence to safety and privacy policies. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, medication administration as delegated by the RN, promoting independence,

Qualifications

• Must be 17 years of age or older.
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
• Ability to follow safety rules and facility policies (HIPAA, safety, rights).
• Preferred: CNA or Home Health Aide certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living per care plan (dressing, grooming, bathing, eating, toileting, ambulation, transferring).
• Assist with AM/HS cares including oral care as needed.
• Provide incontinence care.
• Administer medications as delegated by RN.
• Observe and report changes in residents' condition.
• Promote independence and offer choices.
• Collaborate with care team and Clinical Director/ RN.
• Complete scheduled cleaning tasks.
• Lead and assist resident activities as assigned.
• Respond to safety hazards and call lights.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Resident Assistant is responsible for providing personal care and delegated health-related services designed to maintain the resident’s physical and emotional well-being. This position is responsible for following the service schedule for each resident and correctly documents services provided.

Opportunity Details:

Schedule:

• Full-Time
• Shift: 10:30pm-6:45am
• Position works various weekdays, every other weekend & rotating holidays.

Pay:

• The targeted pay range for this job is $19.50 to $23.00 per hour.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. Assists with treatments and activities of daily living as delegated by the Clinical Director per individualized care plan including:
   • Dressing, grooming, bathing, eating, toileting, ambulation, transferring;
   • Assists with AM and HS cares including oral care as needed;
   • Incontinence care;
   • Assistive devices, glasses and hearing aids;
   • Medication administration as delegated by the RN
2. Assists with medication, treatments and activities of daily living as delegated by the Clinical Director per individualized care plan.
3. Observes, documents and reports changes in physical, cognitive and emotional condition of any of the residents.
4. Promotes independence with residents, offering choices and fostering self-help skills.
5. Partners effectively with others in a demanding and changing environment and supports all team members within the community as directed by the Clinical Director or Registered Nurse.
6. Completes scheduled cleaning tasks.
7. Leads and assists resident activities as assigned.
8. Responds appropriately to all safety hazards, call lights, requests and reassignment of duties.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Must be 17 years of age or older
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written
• Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident’s Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Previous experience with working with seniors
• Certified Nursing Assistant CNA and/or Home Health Aide
