Job summary

## Resident Assistant | 7:00am - 7:00pmApply: Bridgeport, West Virginia: Full time: Posted Today: JR-0048722025 White Oaks Boulevard, Bridgeport, West Virginia 26330# Job DescriptionThe Resident Assistant/Personal Care Aide (PCA) provides quality care and assistance with activities of daily living to residents of the community.## Responsibilities* Reports incidents involving residents, including care concerns or issues, to appropriate individuals (e.g., HCD, RN/LPN, or ED).* Must maintain a working knowledge of all policies and procedures pertaining to the position.* Assists residents with activities of daily living.* Performs housekeeping duties, such as making resident beds and cleaning resident apartments, common areas, dining rooms, etc., as directed by the supervisor.* Responds promptly to all resident calls for assistance or emergency alerts.* Must be able to remain calm and competent during emergencies.* Assists in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.* Follows confidentiality policies regarding the release of resident information.* Assists residents to and from the dining room and to and from activities.* Checks on residents and ensures attendance at meals and activities.* Checks on residents who are ill and reports their status or concerns to appropriate individuals.* Communicates verbally and in writing to report resident status, upcoming community information, resident appointments, admissions, and transfers.* Assists new residents with the move-in transition by providing emotional support.* Performs other duties as assigned.## Requirements* Must have a High School Diploma or GED.* Must have successfully completed an approved personal care aide program per state regulations, as applicable.* Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.* Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.* Must be a contributing member of the nursing team and follow the instructions of the supervisor.* Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times.* Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.* Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and push or carry 25 lbs.* Must be able to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics.* Must wear the designated uniform during working hours, including a name badge.* Must be CPR/First Aid certified or willing to become certified within 60 days of hire.* Must be able to represent the community in a positive and professional manner.* Must attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings.* Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
