Job summary

Aviva Senior Living is seeking a Medication Assistant to join our team. The role supports residents with medication administration, treatment assistance, and daily care in a caring, friendly environment.

You will work the 2p-10p or 10p-6a shifts, with scheduling changes as needed. We value compassion, patience, and reliable attendance, and offer daily pay options for part-time staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• State medication certification to pass medications is required.
• 1–2 years of related work experience preferred.
• Ability to care for residents with memory impairments and other diagnoses.
• English reading and writing ability is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide medication administration and treatment assistance per orders.
• Adhere to narcotic and PRN policies of Aviva Senior Living.
• Report changes in residents' condition or behavior.
• Maintain resident medication records and observations.
• Follow supervisor-set schedules and resident needs.
• Provide emotional and social support to residents.
• Comply with all community policies and duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance daily.

Shift Details:

We are currently searching for a Medication Assistant to join the following shift: 2p-10p,10p-6a. Please note, this may change throughout employment as needed with notice.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Providing residents with medication administration, treatment assistance and services according to the health care provider's orders.
• Adhering to the narcotic and PRN policies of Aviva Senior Living.
• Reporting any changes in residents' physical condition and/or behaviors.
• Maintaining resident records regarding medication distribution, leisure activities, incidents, and observations.
• Following the schedule of the resident's needs set out by the supervisor.
• Providing emotional and social support to residents.
• Adhering to all policies and procedures of the community.
• Fulfilling other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Regular and predictable attendance daily.

Qualifications, skills, and abilities:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Certified in the applicable state to pass medications in the work setting.
• One to two years of related work experience preferred
• Skilled in caring for residents with memory impairments and secondary diagnosis.
• Ability to work with the elderly in a courteous and friendly manner, demonstrating patience and compassion.
• Ability to safely handle food in accordance with facility policies and procedures, as well as all state and federal regulations
• Strong knowledge and understanding of state regulations
• Ability to read and write in English
