Job summary

Village on the Park Denton is seeking compassionate Resident Assistants to support seniors in daily living within a warm, homelike community. You will assist with bathing, dressing, meals, and social activities while maintaining records and observing residents' conditions.

Availability for weekend and holiday shifts, including 6:00a.m.–2:00p.m., 2:00p.m.–10:00p.m., and 10:00p.m.–6:00a.m., is essential. This role requires a High School diploma or GED, with 6 months to 1 year of resident care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience preferable with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, dining) while promoting independence.
• Serve meals and assist in meal preparation to support proper nutrition and hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities to encourage socialization.
• Maintain accurate records of leisure activities, incidents, observations, and changes in residents.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment; perform light housekeeping as needed.
• Follow procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to resident requests, including emergency pendants and calls.
• Know residents' locations, remind to sign out when leaving, and report if a resident cannot be located.
• Foster teamwork through positive interactions with coworkers; attend in-service trainings.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
• Maintain professional appearance and adhere to company policies.

Location: Village on the Park Denton, an Assisted Living with Memory Care senior community.

Pay Rate: $16.00/hr. - $17.00/hr.

PRN Shifts Available:

• Monday - Sunday
• 6:00a.m. - 2:00p.m.
• 2:00p.m. - 10:00p.m.
• 10:00p.m. - 6:00a.m.

Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining, while encouraging as much independence as possible.
• Serve meals in the dining room or residents’ apartments, assist in meal preparation, and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities, encouraging residents to socialize and build friendships.
• Maintain accurate and timely records, documenting leisure activities, incidents, observations, and any changes in residents' conditions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, performing general housekeeping duties.
• Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to resident requests, including emergency call pendants and telephone calls.
• Know each resident’s location, remind them to sign out when leaving, and promptly report if a resident cannot be located.
• Foster a cooperative team environment through positive interactions with co-workers.
• Attend all required in-service training sessions.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
• Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene in accordance with company policies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
