Job description

Remember Me Senior Care (RMSC) is an Assisted Living and Memory Care neighborhood that has a passion to serve with kindness and love.

About the role

Provides daily routine nursing care and services that support the care delivered to residents, particularly those living with dementia, in accordance with the established nursing care procedures and as directed by the supervisor. An active approach to Resident care will be taken and not just passive maintenance. RAs will be deeply involved in resident activities and programming and must understand and have a desire to continue to grow in dementia-specific caregiving.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists the residents in any daily routines, any personal care, and housekeeping tasks that the resident needs assistance in performing.
  • Is certified in dementia education through Remember Me Senior Care.
  • Carries out daily resident programming and activities.
  • Reports observations and other pertinent information related to the care of the resident.
  • Provides services that support the care delivered to the resident, and review care plans daily to determine if changes in the daily care routine have been made.
  • Provides input in the formulation and evaluation of standards of care.
  • Participates in the identification of staff educational needs.
  • Conducts self in a professional manner in compliance with unit facility policies.
  • Surveys for safety and picks up resident’s room each day. Removes all soiled linens from rooms. Bed linens, towels, and wash cloths are to be changed once a week or as needed.
  • Performs checks on residents and provides assistance to the toilet and/or cleanup of soiled resident.
  • Ensures that all residents call lights are promptly answered, followed by appropriate responses to requests.
  • Assists with dietary responsibilities, including serving meals and cleaning meal area, as needed.
  • Maintains and ensures confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or the Executive Director.
  • Understand and follow compliance with safety and infection control policies and procedures to include the practice of regular and thorough handwashing. Adherence to established procedures in the use and disposal of personal protective equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements and Experience
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent required.
  • Experience working with the elderly is desirable.
Certifications, Licenses and other Special Requirements
  • CPR certified and first aid training preferred.

    • Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, team members, and outside contacts.
