Job summary

Jaybird Senior Living is seeking a Resident Assistant to provide personal care and related services to residents per individualized plans. You will work under the direction of the Healthcare Coordinator and may assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, and meal reminders.

The role requires compassion, reliability, and teamwork. A Nursing Aide certification is preferred but not required, and candidates should be prepared for training and development opportunities within a fast-growing company.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum six months of caregiving experience, preferably with elderly residents.
  • Completion of the required medication management course.
  • CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Professionalism and ability to handle emotionally charged situations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and record vital signs; report deviations to supervising nurse per Individual Service Plan (ISP).
  • Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, incontinence care, nutrition, ambulation, transfers, positioning, and medication reminders.
  • Follow ISPs and daily task sheets; communicate resident status changes to supervisors.
  • Utilize standard precautions and infection control procedures.
  • Maintain safe and clean resident environments; document resident progress in a timely manner.
  • Encourage resident engagement in activities.
  • Uphold HIPAA confidentiality and adhere to all community policies.
  • Attend biweekly in-service meetings and mandatory training.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
