Job summary

Butler Machinery is seeking a Resident Ag Field Service Technician who will operate primarily in the Tioga, ND area. You will perform maintenance, diagnostics and repair for agricultural equipment in a field setting, often working independently while supporting a team at the Minot location.

The role requires self-motivation, strong communication, and willingness to travel. CDL eligibility is a must, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for overtime and career growth.

Qualifications

• Two year Associate Degree or equivalent training and experience preferred.
• Experience in repairs of agriculture equipment.
• Ability to perform some welding and knowledge of cutting torch.
• Self-motivated, organized, and self-sufficient with ability to work alone.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of DBS and BMTS.
• Willingness to travel.
• Pre-employment drug testing conducted.
• Must have and maintain a clean driving record.
• CDL licensing or ability to obtain CDL is a must.
• Live within 50 miles of Tioga, ND.

Responsibilities

• Performs fieldwork in outlying areas with possible overnight stays.
• Operates a Field Service Truck for service calls.
• Available for after-hours emergency repairs.
• Overtime opportunities when workload demands.
• Completes service reports, time cards, and parts returns promptly.
• Communicates effectively with customers and supervisor.
• Troubleshoots diesel systems (electrical, hydraulics, power train).
• Performs repairs and maintenance on agricultural equipment.
• Supports Butler Machinery’s mission and values.
