Job summary

Beaumont Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center seeks an Activities Assistant to help plan, implement, and evaluate activity programs for residents in line with each resident’s care plan and supervisor directions.

You will foster a warm, supportive environment, collaborate with other departments, prepare activity areas, assist residents with crafts, letters and errands, and maintain confidentiality and resident dignity throughout care provision.

Qualifications

• Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department is preferred.
• Patience, tact, cheerful disposition & enthusiasm.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement and evaluate activity programs and quality assurance for the Activities Department.
• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and involvement; report and chart progress.
• Maintain warm, positive atmosphere and calm environment throughout the facility.
• Prepare activity rooms and equipment; recommend supplies.
• Follow care plans in providing daily activities.
• Purchase supplies for residents.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Oversee residents in activities to promote well-being.
• Assist in-room residents with visits, letters, errands, crafts.
