Job summary

Senior Solutions Management Group in Alabama is seeking a Part Time Activity Assistant responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing and directing activity programs to meet the spiritual, emotional, recreational and social needs of residents on an individual basis.

Duties include setting up activities, inviting residents, attending planning meetings, assisting volunteers, transporting as needed, and monitoring changes in condition for care staff.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school degree or equivalent.
• One year experience in working with elderly desired.
• Should have creative aptitude for training in arts, crafts and games.

Responsibilities

• Set up and carry out activities as planned.
• Clean Activity room between activities.
• Go to apartments to invite residents to activities and assist in getting them back to apartments.
• Attend Activity Planning meetings.
• Assist volunteers with activities.
• Transportation as needed.
• Observe residents for changes in condition and report to Activity Director.
• Help with putting up and taking down of holiday themes.
• Notify care staff of nursing needs.
• Attend all staff meetings.
