Job summary

NJPAC’s Arts Education team is seeking Residency Teaching Artists to lead instruction in music, theater, hip hop, dance, and more during residencies at partner schools. Flexible availability Monday–Friday 8AM–5PM for in-school, after-school, and summer programs is required.

Professionals must hold a bachelor's degree in their artistic discipline or have 3+ years of teaching experience, attend mandatory trainings, and prepare lesson plans using NJPAC templates to ensure alignment with learning

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in their artistic discipline or a minimum of 3 years of relevant teaching experience.
• Availability Monday through Friday between 8AM and 5PM to cover teaching opportunities.
• Must attend mandatory trainings and complete lesson plans using provided templates.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction in your artistic discipline(s).
• Develop and submit lesson plans using NJPAC’s official templates and align with curriculum vision.
• Adjust instruction based on student needs while keeping goals and outcomes consistent.
• Collaborate with Arts Education staff and school partners to create an inclusive learning environment.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with NJPAC staff and school partners.
