Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent years of experience in the appropriate field of study.
• Prior teaching experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong competency in marine science field methods.
• Prior experience living in a remote field environment preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as core academic teaching staff for selected Shoals Marine Laboratory credit course(s).
• Provide lecture and laboratory exercises to accomplish established course objectives.
• Supervise undergraduate and/or high school students during laboratory and field experiences.
• Assess student academic performance and submit final grades at course conclusion.
• When applicable, provide guidance and supervision for up to two teaching assistants.
