Job summary

University of Virginia's UVa Housing & Residence Life is seeking a Residence Life Coordinator to lead and coach Senior Residents who support Resident Advisors, helping meet the university’s 2030 plan while enhancing community and student development.

The role is live-off with potential on-campus housing; salary range is $50,000–$60,000 annually, exempt, with UVa benefits. Evening/weekend work may be required; background checks will be performed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience required.
• A Master’s degree or equivalent in Counseling, Higher Education, Student Affairs Administration, or related field is preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership promoting respect and appreciation for diversity among students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support community building in residential areas and assist in developing programs for the first and second year experience as outlined in the university’s 2030 plan.
• Mentor, train, and supervise student staff and student leaders; help students solve problems and respond to challenges or crises.
• Handle incident response and crisis management as part of Residence Life responsibilities.
