Job summary

Robert Morris University is seeking an Assistant Director of Residence Life to lead housing management, staff development, and residential education within the Office of Residence Life.

The role supervises professional and paraprofessional staff and collaborates with the Director to manage the daily Residence Life experience, including crisis response and on-call duties. This position focuses on maintaining safe, supportive communities while aligning with campus policies.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Higher Education or a related field is strongly preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years of postgraduate experience in residence life.

Responsibilities

• Administer room selection, housing assignments, and related reporting.
• Coordinate the residence life duty rotation for nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Oversee residence hall openings, closings, and safety inspections with Area Coordinators.
• Develop and implement the Residence Life Education Model and Community Development Model.
• Build collaborative relationships with faculty and campus partners to support academic success.
• Provide year-round training and guidance to community advisors.
• Directly supervise graduate assistants and attend weekly professional staff meetings.
• Participate in university crisis response and on-call duty rotation.
