Job summary

Energy Talent Search is seeking a Reservoir Engineer for a leading onshore oil & gas company based in Dallas, TX. You will apply advanced reservoir engineering techniques to evaluate field performance and optimize recovery, partnering with geoscientists and drilling teams.

The role emphasizes developing models, field development planning, production optimization, and economic evaluation to inform investments and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline; Master’s preferred.
• 5–10 years of reservoir engineering experience in onshore conventional fields.
• Proficient with CMG, Eclipse, and Petrel RE; experienced with OFM and Aries.
• Solid understanding of fluid flow, reserves classification, and economics.
• Strong analytical and multidisciplinary collaboration skills; able to synthesize data.

Responsibilities

• Reservoir management: evaluate field performance and opportunities for increased recovery.
• Simulation & modeling: develop and maintain reservoir models to forecast production.
• Field development planning: collaborate for infill, workovers, and secondary recovery.
• Production optimization: analyze data to maximize efficiency.
• Economic evaluation: forecast reserves and support investment proposals.
• Data integration: align subsurface and surface data for decision making.
• Compliance & reporting: ensure SEC and SPE-PRMS standards; document findings.
• Continuous improvement: adopt new tech and workflows to improve recovery.
