The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Neonatology, is seeking a Researcher I to support the laboratory in animal care, inventory, and day-to-day operations. Under supervision, you will assist with experiments and maintain equipment for ongoing research initiatives.

Primary duties include breeding management, genotyping, setup of experiments, and early morning hyperoxia exposure. The role is onsite with regular daytime shifts in a scientific research environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a related field or high school diploma with 2 years related experience.
• Work experience may not substitute for education requirement.
• This role requires day shift onsite in a laboratory setting.

Responsabilités

• Monitor colony health and respond to issues identified by animal care staff or veterinarians.
• Assist with day-to-day operations: ordering supplies, maintaining inventory, and ensuring equipment is maintained for research use.
• With appropriate training, assist with ongoing animal and in vitro experiments to support research initiatives.
• Breeding management, genotyping, preparation and setup of experiments, and conducting hyperoxia exposure experiments in the early morning hours.
• Oversee daily maintenance of the laboratory mouse colony.
