This position is funded for 12 months, with continuation based on university need, performance, and funding availability.

Position Summary

The Stewart Laboratory in Penn State’s Department of Biology seeks a Research Technologist specializing in Life Sciences to support research involving fishes. Responsibilities include maintaining lab supplies and equipment, managing fish colonies, contributing to research projects, ensuring lab safety, advising on research methods, data analysis, manuscript preparation, training students and postdocs, and providing feedback on experiments.

Work will primarily occur in the lab and animal facilities, with occasional weekend or holiday work required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently and collaboratively, good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • No specific certifications required.
