Job summary

Responsibilities

• Lead, oversee, and independently set up and perform experiments and procedures in support of laboratory goals and grant commitments (e.g., assays, cell/tissue culture, animal studies, equipment planning and ordering).
• Contribute to planning, design, and modification of studies and experiments in the research lab setting.
• Collect, enter, summarize, and analyze experimental data for presentations and manuscripts.
• Monitor results, report unusual outcomes/errors, and suggest modifications.
• Directly involved in preparation of manuscripts for publication and grant applications.
• May oversee training of residents, fellows, and temporary lab personnel in lab techniques.
• Perform advanced safety functions in the laboratory.
• Ensure viability of materials, reagents, and specimens.
• Participate in and present at research laboratory meetings.

Senior Research Technologist

• Monitor results, report unusual outcomes/errors, and suggest modifications.
• Directly involved in preparation of manuscripts for publication in peer‑reviewed journals and/or in preparation of grant applications of interest to the laboratory.
• May oversee and assist with the training of residents, fellows, and temporary lab personnel in lab techniques.
• Perform advanced safety functions in the laboratory.
