Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN seeks a laboratory professional to support research goals through routine and advanced lab procedures, data collection and analysis. • Experience with basic data analysis is required.
• Demonstrated writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and performs routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals and grant commitments (e.g., assays, cell/tissue culture, animal studies).
• Monitors results, reports unusual outcomes and suggests modifications.
• Collects, enters and summarizes data.
• Assists in the maintenance of lab equipment and supplies.
• Performs basic statistical data analysis; prepares tables/charts/graphs and assists in organizing data.
• Presents at research laboratory meetings and contributes to writing of manuscripts.
• Works under supervision and may perform some assignments independently as discussed and approved by Principal Investigator.

The CRTU's primary focus is on patient care and basic specimen collection and processing.The lab primarily handles blood and urine samples and is typically involved in assisting with specimen collection and then centrifuging and aliquoting samples. Those samples are then forwarded on to other labs for testing or further manipulation.

The CRTU will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position including F1 OPT STEM.

Schedule Details

This position includes a mix of day, evening, and night shifts. Our current shift start times are 6 am, 7 am, 8am, and 8:30 am for day shifts, 3 pm for evenings, and 11 pm for nights.

Weekend Schedule

Weekends and Holidays are a mix of on-call and 12-hour shifts. 12-hour shifts begin at 7 am or 7 pm. Currently staff work 2 to 3 weekends a year and are on call for an additional 4 to 6 weekends a year. Holidays could either be on-call or a 12-hour shift based on need.
