Job Description

The Research Technician I will provide computational and statistical support for a research project involving super resolution spatial transcriptomics and cellular imaging. Under the supervision of the faculty member, the Research Technician I will prepare research data, implement and evaluate statistical methods, conduct simulation studies, create visualizations, maintain reproducible code, and assist with research reports and manuscripts.

The Research Technician I will provide computational and statistical support for a research project involving super resolution spatial transcriptomics and cellular imaging. Under the supervision of the faculty member, the Research Technician I will prepare research data, implement and evaluate statistical methods, conduct simulation studies, create visualizations, maintain reproducible code, and assist with research reports and manuscripts.

Opportunities to Contribute:

• Prepare, organize and quality-check spatial transcriptomics, imaging, and cell-segmentation data.
• Conduct simulation studies and sensitivity analyses to assess model performance and robustness.
• Prepare figures, tables, technical summaries, and research documentation.
• Participate in research meetings and communicate progress to the principal investigator.
• Implement and evaluate statistical models for subcellular RNA localization and segmentation error.
• Develop and maintain reproducible Python code and data-analysis workflows.
• Review relevant literature, and assist with reports, presentations and manuscripts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2 years of relevant experience.

A well-qualified candidate may also possess:

• BS in Statistics or applied mathematics.
• Experience in analyzing xenium/merfish/cosmc/seqfish+ data.
• Experience in analyzing super resolution (subcellular level) spatial transcriptomics data, hierarchical statistical modeling, python/R.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Salary: $20.00 an hour
