Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of college coursework and two years of experience in clinical, biomedical, or behavioral research with human subjects.
• Equivalent education/experience may substitute for minimum qualifications.
• Applicants who do not meet these qualifications WILL NOT be forwarded to the Hiring Manager.

Responsibilities

• Screen UWMC patients via EMR (Epic) to assess eligibility per protocol.
• Obtainment of informed consent from subjects or their legal next of kin.
• Coordinate collection of biospecimens (respiratory, blood, urine, tissue).
• Ensure patient safety and protocol adherence with clinical staff.
• Lead the establishment of improved screening workflows with study teams.
• Maintain study regulatory compliance with institutional and sponsor requirements.
• Lead processing of biospecimens per established protocols.
• Track biospecimens in data capture and confirm consent.
• Ship specimens and obtain samples from outside researchers per regulations.
• Establish biospecimen processing protocols as needed.
• Data abstraction from the EMR.
• Data entry in study-specific software (REDCap).
• Organize samples using Freezerworks; perform basic queries.
• Database cleaning and organization; prepare basic investigator reports.
