Job description

Overview

The Lynch Lab at the Ludwig Princeton Branch at Princeton University seeks applicants for a Research Specialist position to join a laboratory focused on studying cancer immunology, and the effect of diet and obesity on cancer progression. The successful candidate will work with the P.I. and members of the lab to design and perform experiments with a particular focus on immunometabolic pathways in vitro and in vivo including analysis of mouse model of obesity and cancer. This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of extension.

Depending on the prior experience of the applicant, candidates at a variety of levels, based on the requirements below, will be considered.

Responsibilities

Specific duties include but are not limited to laboratory rodent handling; molecular biology techniques, flow cytometry, tissue culture and lab maintenance work. Working with other labs to aid use of metabolic cage collaborations is also a feature of this position.

Qualifications
  • Essential Qualifications
  • A strong background in science and a bachelor's degree
  • Math and computer proficiency, along with meticulous record keeping
  • Must be highly motivated, a team player, able to work independently, and must have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • A background in molecular biology, immunology and/or cancer biology is highly desirable along with the ability to perform advanced mouse work
  • Optimally, the candidate has demonstrated experience with molecular biology and laboratory rodent handling and tissue culture
  • Computational biology experience is also highly desirable
