Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center seeks a Research Senior Associate to serve as a subject-m matter expert in molecular biology and organoid research. You will work with the PI to develop and manage projects and perform complex experiments using cell lines and organoid models.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent required; 3 years relevant experience with Bachelor's Degree, or 1 year relevant experience with Master's Degree.
  • PhD preferred for senior-level work responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with PI to develop, manage and implement research projects.
  • Design and conduct complex experiments utilizing cell lines and organoid models.
  • Plan and execute advanced molecular biological and biochemical procedures such as cell and organoid culture, realtime PCR, immunofluorescence, immunoblot, ELISA, and cloning techniques.
  • Analyze and evaluate experimental data.
  • Develop and implement new or revised research methods.
  • Assist PI in research & development efforts of new research projects.
  • Plan and write abstracts and manuscripts for publication in scientific journals.
  • Attend and present research results at national scientific conferences and workshops.
  • Contribute to developing, writing, editing and critiquing research grant proposals.
  • Oversee maintenance of laboratory equipment and purchasing of reagents.
  • Implement laboratory SOPs and Safety Manual and ensure compliance with guidelines.

Responsibilities

Research Senior Associate will function as a specialist or technical expert in molecular biology and organoid research. Responsibilities of the Research Senior Associate will be to:

  • collaborate with Principal Investigator (PI) to develop, manage and implement research projects;
  • design and conduct complex experiments utilizing cell lines and organoid models;
  • plan and execute advanced molecular biological and biochemical procedures such as cell and organoid culture, realtime PCR, immunofluorescence, immunoblot, ELISA, and cloning techniques;
  • analyze and evaluate experimental data;
  • develop and implements new or revised research methods;
  • assist PI in research & development efforts of new research projects;
  • plan and write abstracts and manuscripts for publication in scientific journals;
  • attend and present research results at national scientific conferences and workshops;
  • actively contribute to developing, writing, editing and critiquing research grant proposals;
  • oversee appropriate maintenance of laboratory equipment and purchasing of reagents; and
  • implement laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safety Manual and ensure compliance to local, state and federal laboratory guidelines.
Education/Experience

Master's Degree or equivalent experience required; 3 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree, or 1 year of relevant experience required with Master's Degree. PhD preferred
