Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Research Scientist to join our Reasoning and Planning team. You will push the boundaries of AI by developing novel architectures and training paradigms for multi-step reasoning, mathematical problem-solving, and complex planning in frontier models.

You will design and evaluate deep learning architectures, collaborate to scale training across accelerators, and publish findings at top ML venues while contributing to product roadmaps.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in CS/ML or related field.
• Publications in NeurIPS/ICML/ICLR/CVPR.
• Proficiency in Python and PyTorch.
• Expertise in transformer architectures and RL.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and evaluate novel deep learning architectures for reasoning and search-based alignment.
• Collaborate with infrastructure/engineering to scale training pipelines over thousands of accelerators.
• Publish research findings at top ML conferences and contribute to product roadmaps.
