Calibr is focused on innovative early stage translational research in the areas of regenerative medicine, cancer biology, cardiovascular and metabolic disease, immunology and infectious disease.

Position Overview:
Calibr, a division of Scripps Research (Calibr) is seeking a research scientist/postdoctoral fellow to join a dynamic, interdisciplinary team of scientists focused on early stage translational research. The researcher will work as part of a team of scientists to small molecule and peptide drug discovery for metabolic diseases related research. Research activities include mammalian cell-based assay development and optimization and high throughput cell-based screens, elucidation of biologically relevant targets/mechanisms of action and elaboration of protein or small molecules toward pre-clinical drug candidates. Researchers are encouraged to publish their findings in high impact, peer-reviewed journals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Small molecule drug discovery for diabetes related research.
• PhD or MS level scientist with experience in chemical biology, cell biology, molecular biology with demonstrated research excellence and multitasking ability
• Previous experience in diabetes research, GPCR biology and pharmacology will be a plus
• Highly motivated, creative, and able to maintain excellent documentation of their work
• Able to collaborate proficiently and communicate effectively with colleagues and management teams
• Previous postdoctoral experience is acceptable, but not required.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must possess a strong work ethic
