Job summary

SynVivo Inc. in Huntsville, AL, seeks a Research Scientist with hands-on expertise in microfluidic organ-on-chip systems and cell-based models to design and optimize disease-relevant platforms.

You will lead experiments, analyze data, and collaborate with partners to advance organ-on-chip technology. The role offers opportunities for technology development, publications, and grant support, with emphasis on oncology, neuroscience, inflammation, or toxicology applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Neuroscience, Biomedical Sciences, Bioengineering, or related field; Master's preferred; Ph.D. a plus.
• Hands-on experience with microfluidic organ-on-chip, tissue-on-chip, or microphysiological systems.
• Experience with mammalian and/or primary cell culture and cell-based assays.
• Strong experimental design, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, microscopy, or related techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments using microfluidic organ-on-chip platforms.
• Develop and optimize cell-based assays and disease-relevant organ-on-chip models.
• Perform cell culture, including primary cells, and related molecular, biochemical, immunological, and imaging assays.
• Operate and optimize microfluidic devices, including cell seeding, perfusion, culture, and treatment.
• Analyze experimental data and prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, customers, and external research partners to develop technical solutions.
• Support development and validation of new organ-on-chip models, assays, and applications.
• Contribute to scientific publications, presentations, and grant proposals.
