Meta seeks Research Scientist Intern, Ranking & Recommendations (PhD). Join our Post-Training & Research team within Facebook Discovery, working on ML for ranking and AI agents at Facebook-scale data.

Internships are 12 to 24 weeks long with various start dates. Requires a PhD in CS/AI/ML and proficiency in Python, PyTorch, Transformers, and ML systems; excellent collaboration with researchers and cross-functional teams is expected.

Qualifications

• PhD in CS, AI, ML or a related technical field.
• Eligible to work in the country of employment at hire and during employment.
• Proficient in Python and PyTorch.
• Knowledge of Transformers and ML for ranking/recommendation.
• Experience building ML/deep learning systems.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead a research project in ML for ranking and recommendation.
• Design, train and post-train deep learning models on Facebook-scale data.
• Evaluate models with offline metrics and online experiments.
• Publish research results and contribute to product-relevant research.
• Collaborate with researchers and cross-functional partners.
