Job summary

Baxter International Inc. is seeking a Research Scientist II in Round Lake, IL to spearhead extractables and leachables (E&L) programs.

You will design studies, provide strategic direction, and collaborate with Regulatory Affairs, Toxicology, and Quality to ensure regulatory compliance. The role builds leadership within a growing E&L team, coordinating across Analytical Sciences, Biocompatibility, and external laboratories, managing budgets and timelines while advancing product development and

Qualifications

• Experience with extractables & leachables (E&L) programs and analytical techniques.
• Ability to lead technical teams and coordinate multiple studies.
• Experience coordinating with Regulatory Affairs, Toxicology, and Quality teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute E&L studies for medical devices, pharma, and combination products.
• Provide strategic direction, technical oversight, and resource planning for E&L programs.
• Collaborate with Analytical Sciences, Toxicology, Biocompatibility, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Manufacturing, and Program Management.
• Oversee multiple E&L projects across the product portfolio ensuring regulatory alignment and timely delivery.
• Develop and implement E&L strategies aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
