Role Overview

Support bacterial adhesion and host-pathogen interaction research in a microbiology laboratory as a Research Scientist/Engineer 2.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct experiments involving molecular cloning, protein expression, bacterial adhesion assays, and antibody evaluation.
  • Maintain detailed records, analyze data, and contribute to publications and grant reports.
  • Support laboratory workflow improvements and assist in research planning.
Mentorship

Provide technical guidance and training to students and trainees, ensuring adherence to protocols and safety.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with two years of experience in biomedical research or relevant experience. Knowledge of molecular biology, bacterial pathogens, and host immune responses is required. Preference for a Master’s degree.

  • Proficiency in microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, recordkeeping, and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and work independently, with increasing research responsibilities.
Work Environment

Compensation

Salary ranges from $69,600 to $73,200 annually, prorated for part-time (80%).
