Job summary

Polymathic AI in New York City is seeking a full-time Research Scientist to build next-generation foundation models for science at NYU CDS. You will conduct cutting-edge research, develop large-scale deep learning models, and collaborate with ML experts and domain scientists to push the frontiers of AI for science.

The role is on-site at NYU’s Center for Data Science, with an initial one-year appointment and potential for extension.

Qualifications

• PhD in ML/CS/engineering or related field required.
• Experience with large AI models and scientific domains preferred.
• Proficiency in Python with ML frameworks (PyTorch or JAX).

Responsibilities

• Conduct cutting-edge research at the intersection of AI and science.
• Develop large-scale deep learning models for scientific discovery.
• Collaborate with ML researchers, domain scientists and AI experts.
• Contribute to interpretable and high-performing AI models.
• Mentor students, postdocs and other researchers.
