Job summary

IsoTalent is seeking a Research Scientist in South Jordan, Utah, onsite, with a solid background in analytical chemistry. You will develop and validate methods, lead projects, and support product testing to ensure quality and compliance.

The role requires hands-on experience with HPLC/UPLC, LC-MS/MS, GC/GC-MS or spectroscopy, and a track record in method transfer and troubleshooting. Eligible for a bonus plan with full benefits and PTO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field with 3–4 years of experience, or Master’s with 1–2 years, or PhD.
• Analytical chemistry knowledge; chromatography, experimental design, data interpretation.
• Hands-on with HPLC/UPLC, LC-MS/MS, GC/GC-MS, or spectroscopy.
• Experience with method development, validation, transfer, and troubleshooting is a plus.
• Familiarity with regulated lab environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, validate, transfer, and improve analytical methods for raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
• Run routine in-house testing to support product release and quality decisions.
• Write and maintain procedures, validation protocols, and technical reports within the quality system.
• Troubleshoot instrument, method, or software issues and support lab investigations.
• Collaborate with Quality Control and other teams; ensure safety, quality, regulatory compliance and data integrity.

Our client, a global maker of herbal and nutritional supplements, is hiring a Research Scientist for its Quality department in South Jordan, Utah. You'll develop and validate the analytical methods used to test botanical raw materials and finished products.

A Day in the Life

You'll develop, optimize, validate, transfer, and improve analytical methods for raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products. You'll also run routine in-house testing that supports product release and other quality decisions.

You'll write and maintain procedures, validation protocols, and technical reports within the quality system. When a method, instrument, or software application misbehaves, you'll troubleshoot it. You'll also support lab investigations and root cause analyses.

You'll work closely with Quality Control and other teams, offering technical guidance and training. Safety, quality, regulatory, and data-integrity standards apply to everything you do.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related field with 3–4 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 1–2 years, or a Ph.D. (early career or limited experience is fine)
• Working knowledge of analytical chemistry, especially chromatography, experimental design, and scientific data interpretation
• Hands‑on experience with HPLC/UPLC, LC‑MS/MS, GC/GC‑MS, or spectroscopy
• Experience with method development, validation, transfer, and troubleshooting is a plus
• Familiarity with regulated laboratory environments is preferred
