Thinking Machines Lab in San Francisco is seeking a Research Product Manager to drive complex, high-impact technical products spanning research, infrastructure and applied domains. You’ll turn ambitious ideas into executable roadmaps and maintain momentum across projects.

The role is ideal for someone who thrives in deeply technical discussions, can abstract at a high level while getting into the weeds, and can align people, ideas, and systems to advance research initiatives at scale.

Qualifications

Degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, mathematics, physics, engineering, or similar.
Experience in research program management, product management, or similar.
Masters or PhD in computer science, AI, mathematics, physics or engineering.
Past publications in AI or frontier models is a plus.
Strong technical communication and ability to learn new domains.

Responsibilities

Drive and coordinate large-scale research products and programs.
Translate technical ideas into actionable, well-scoped plans.
Collaborate across disciplines — research, ML infra, legal and business development.
Create and maintain compute and resource roadmaps.
Synthesize and communicate progress across diverse technical teams.
Support the integration of new technologies into production systems and roadmaps.
