Job summary

Texas A&M University AgriLife Research in Bryan, Texas, is seeking a Research Director for Programs. This 12-month, 100% research role coordinates facility operations, schedules, and cross-PI activities, and ensures compliance and billing support for multiple projects.

The position collaborates across research, teaching, and extension missions, guiding staff, and graduate students. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership abilities are essential, with a focus on ethical research

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science, Reproductive Physiology or closely related field with five years related experience.
• Or Master’s Degree in Animal Science, Reproductive Physiology or closely related field with three years related experience.
• Or Ph.D. in Animal Science, Reproductive Physiology or closely related field and one year of related experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, including a relevant publication record.
• Team-building, collaboration, and project management abilities.
• Highly organized and professional demeanor.
• Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Responsibilities

• Manages projects including planning, designing and implementing of research.
• Manages compliance by writing protocols for animal care and IBC.
• Ensures protocols are followed and studies are conducted safely and ethically.
• Manages and maintains livestock at the building.
• Provides training to users and ensure training is up to date.
• Manages inventory for lab spaces, order and procure supplies and equipment.
• Manages space and research calendar to maximize use of space.
• Assists with billing and budgets for users.
• Assists with writing research reports and creating presentations.
• Assists with collecting and the analysis data.
• Assists with drafting and editing of manuscripts.
• Coordinates building and equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
