Job summary

Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI), part of McKesson, seeks a Clinic Research Nurse to monitor study subjects and ensure protocol compliance. You will use the protocol to screen and treat patients, and maintain precise documentation at each clinic visit.

The role requires an associate degree (bachelor’s preferred), RN license, and strong knowledge of medical terminology, FDA CFRs, and GCP. Oncology experience and CCRP/ACRP certification are advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Must-have: associate degree; bachelor’s preferred.
  • RN license required to practice.
  • Strong knowledge of medical and research terminology is essential.
  • Familiarity with FDA CFRs and GCP is required.
  • Understanding of clinical research processes is essential.
  • Oncology experience, and research setting exposure are preferred.
  • CCRP/ACRP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow study subjects to ensure protocol compliance and close monitoring while on study.
  • Screen, treat, and follow patients using the protocol as the sole guide.
  • Ensure patient documentation is complete at each clinic visit during screening.
  • Confirm medications are approved by registrar before initiating treatment or changing regimens.
  • Accurately calculate and document BSA, creatinine clearance, and other conversions per protocol.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments, scans, and procedures per protocol requirements.
  • Inform SCRI and clinic staff when a patient comes off study.

As a Clinic Research Nurse your primary responsibility is to follow study subjects ensuring protocol compliance and close monitoring while the subjects are on study.

  • You will ensure the protection of study patients by timely adherence to protocol requirements and compliance

  • You will use the protocol as the only tool to screen, treat, and follow patients

  • You will ensure that patient documentation is completed at each clinic visit while in screening

  • You will ensure that all medications are approved by the registrar prior to initiating treatment or when changing medication regimens, such as crossover studies

  • You will accurately calculate and documents the BSA, creatinine clearance, urine protein:creatinine ratio or any other conversions needed per protocol

  • You will ensure that follow-up appointments, scans, or any related procedures are scheduled correctly according to protocol requirements

  • You will inform and document appropriate SCRI and clinic personnel when patient comes off study

You should have for this position:

  • An associate degree; preferably a bachelor's degree

  • RN License

  • Knowledge of medical and research terminology

  • Knowledge of FDA Code of Federal Regulations and GCP

  • Knowledge of the clinical research processes

  • At least on year of oncology experience preferred

  • At least one year of experience in a research setting preferred

  • Research Certification (ACRP or CCRP) Preferred
