Start in the 2nd half of 2026, part-time or full-time with 16-40 hours per week

Your responsibilities

In industrial research, you are given the opportunity to work on a forward-looking topic with high practical relevance. You will develop your own concepts, methods or algorithms, show that your ideas work and that you can convince colleagues with your results. We attach great importance to good supervision at a high level. You can interact intensively with other students and colleagues in the team.

In order to choose the right topic for you from our wide range, we ask you to tell us which of the following areas sounds most interesting to you:

• We create digital models of our cameras, lenses, lighting systems and other components, and use them to simulate image processing in industrial systems in real time.
• We capture images of the contents of sealed packaging using near-field radar imaging.
• We capture three-dimensional images using stereo cameras, strip projection and time-of-flight cameras, and process the 3D data using signal processing.
• Computer vision involves extracting the relevant information from these 3D images for industrial applications and using it to make automated decisions in real time. Both traditional and AI-based methods are used here.
• In parallel, we are working on other challenging technologies and innovation projects.

Your qualifications

• You study mechatronics, (technical) computer science, image processing, communications engineering, physics, technical or applied mathematics, systems engineering or a similar subject.
• If you already have experience with Python, simulation environments and/or image processing software and/or a deep learning framework, that's beneficial.
• Your eyes light up when you face a big technical challenge.
• You like to work independently on projects and at the same time you like to exchange ideas with your colleagues.
• Fluent German or English round off your profile.
